The traditional room exceeded my expectations with its authentic charm. The private dining room for both dinner and breakfast was a wonderful touch. The location of the hotel, nestled in a tranquil and beautiful setting, added to the overall experience.
The futons provided for sleeping were not very comfortable, especially for taller individuals. Additionally, the pillows could have been more comfortable as well.

The peaceful ambiance of Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan is truly unmatched. With breathtaking views of the river and alps, I felt completely immersed in nature. The traditional ryokan experience, complete with authentic wooden planks and a relaxing atmosphere, made me feel like I was transported to a different era. The hot springs were a highlight, especially the outdoor baths. The attentive and friendly staff, including the woman who served our meals, made our stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Despite the slight inconvenience of a shorter private bath time and the distance from nearby towns without transportation options, the exceptional cleanliness, generous amenities, and exquisite food more than made up for it. Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan is truly a remarkable place, and I couldn't be happier with my stay.

The onsen experience was truly rejuvenating, especially the outdoor baths with stunning views of the river and alps. The authentic atmosphere and attentive service made our stay unforgettable.
In terms of drawbacks, there were a few minor issues such as the dated furnishings and the short duration of the private bath time. Additionally, the location was a bit remote and the transportation options to nearby towns were limited.

As we arrived in this remote mountain valley, we were immediately taken in by the beauty of the surroundings. The ryokan is nestled in a gorgeous valley, allowing us to unplug and relax. Our room faced the tranquil river, creating a serene atmosphere. The futon provided a comfortable rest after a day of exploring. The various baths offered a chance to rejuvenate, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was peaceful. The highlight was the delicious dinners in a private room.
The carpets and some furnishings in the ryokan were showing signs of wear and could benefit from an update.
